 Is It A Cult?*

 

Is the Church - the Body of Jesus Christ - a cult?   No!

Is the Presbyterian Church a cult?   No!

Is Presbyterian Cursillo a cult?   No!

Is Presbyterian Pilgrimage a cult?  No!

 

Presbyterian Cursillo and Pilgrimage are based on reformed beliefs and doctrine - on Presbyterian theology.

Everything we do in Presbyterian Cursillo and Pilgrimage must be in accordance with the PC(USA) Book of Order.

Our Manual of Presbyterian Cursillo was prepared as part of his doctoral dissertation by the Rev. Dr. Fred Larkin Keith at Columbia Theological Seminary - an institution of the PC(USA).

As such, it required the approval of his doctoral supervising committee.

Presbyterian Cursillo and Pilgrimage are not cults. 

They exist to help people know and experience God's love and to take up the work of ministry in their home churches.

* In this context, the word cult is defined in Merriam-Webster's 11th Collegiate Dictionary as "A religion regarded as unorthodox or spurious."
